Courtsey: Bill Watterson

It's nearly the end of July... I know posts have been sparse in arrival... Apologies... But that's why I put that little twitter feed by the side, so you can peer into the trivial, mundane and stoic forecasts of my brain...

My brains been pretty much in overdrive these days... You know that point in a copywriters life when he's got very few works to show for and searching for the light... When, all that the portfolio would contain is but remnants of mediocre works from the college days... Those couple of start up ads that you did in your first workplaces and internships... The stage where he's frantically trying to get his act together... That's where I am right now... Trudging through the boundaries of the ordinary, picking my brains to come up with the extraordinary...

Yeeesh... I hate using the 'ordinary to extraordinary' type cliches... But sometimes, you just can't invent phrases at thought speed... Rather the speed at which a thought gives wings to an idea... Like fireworks they shine in all there glory, but only for a moment and then dissolve into a memory... Great ideas are molded from the moment, not the memories... Both are leagues apart... No matter how experienced you are in the business of writing never ever give up on the flow, because phrases can be invented like whenever... A tweak here or a synonym later your done... After all, you are in the business of dabbling in drivel... But your mojo muse, she either works in flashes, flashes that need fleshing out... Or she works long hours... And then all of a sudden, Poof !!! She's gone... It's either the 'muse is in' or 'the muse is out'...

So as far as my blogging muse goes she's been out of town for a while... Maybe cheating with her ex, who knows... But for now, she's back... And that's all that matters...

After weeks filled with overflowing anticipation... So much so that I think my brains given birth to a river... Lets call it the River Anticipia !!! Anyway, post river Anticipia, my college has unleashed a licensed mad man upon this planet...

Yes, I've officially been deemed worthy by my institution... Enough for them to bestow me with a degree... Thank god for that and thank god for the degree... Now the next set of questions are the ones I'll have to ask myself.. Now what... And for some reason it will echo down the entire family tree or hopefully it'll slip through the radars... I hope an open declaration will give me a breather and hence the blog...

Now that I've got my license to ensnare, next plan would be tanker loads of advertising... Its not about the glamour really, its more about involuntary learning... There's a lot to talk about everyday, a lot to learn... There's always something new everyday, or sometimes... It's something old from yesterday screaming deadlines... Or it's that ad the competition came out with... Or that movie you saw yesterday... Or this or that or a bunch of million other things... It's one of those places where everyday does not require routine but spontaneity...

When you look at it from one of many perspectives advertising is actually... Actually lets skip that, nobody likes us ad people thaaaat much... Except probably when you become creative geniuses of such magnitude that the media digs you up and puts you on display, asking your views on the people and happenings in the world around us... The well kept secret is when you say people, we hear consumer... And happenings, well we call them opportunities... Somewhere in our minds, we begin hearing cash registers ringing... Sure we understand people, we research it, document it and put it to work... You see, we are the watchdogs of capitalism... Did I say too much... Maybe I should stop before you stone me or my kind execute me...

That said and done, I think I've been going off on wild tangents with no perspective in particular... And none that seems to be helping me... What I actually wanted to say is... In the language of our ancestors...

Oooga Ooga... Me graduate... Happy happy... I Advertising Long Time...

For the past few days I'd been dry out of inspiration.... I guess I overspent it reworking the blog... And we had this branding thing going on at the agency... So, I was pretty much stretched thin between the two... Or should I say steamrolled by number three... A weekend spend with my ever energetic nephew (four years old) and niece, thank god she's only about 8 months old...

So back to the blog, I've tweaked it a little here, a little there... Actually it's more of an overhaul kind of thing... Needed ease of access and appeal working for me... Since I noticed that 'people' actually do take the effort to read this blog, I though what the heck... I need to take an effort to make it a read-o-phillic page...

On to the blog... All the link's are pretty much self explanatory... But if it is a little too obscure for comfort... Just let the cursor hover over the links and ta daa... A brief explanation will pop out... Not exactly pop out, more like appears... As for the other changes, it's all simplistic... For those of who want to contact me... The 'contact' link at the top right end connects you to my 'linkedin' page... That's right no more anonymity... Shame really, I loved the anonymity and the protection of my itsy bitsy little laptop interface... But the internet is a brave new world after all...

I'm usually hesitant about using cut, copy, paste strategies; so, I should give credit where it's due... My blog design is off a template I got from deluxe templates... For all you bloggers who want to spice up their blog... Deluxe templates is the way to go... Of course I threw in a bit of my own feeble attempts at coding...

The result was well... I like it... Hope you do too...
